① Common tubing buckle types
There are three commonly used buckle types for tubing: EU, NU and NewVam.
EU and NU are difficult to distinguish in appearance from each other. They are both triangular button types, but they can be easily distinguished from the entire pipe string, that is, EU means external thickening,(8 threads per inch, which is what we often say about increased button, NU means no external thickening. (With 10 threads per inch, which is what we often call flat buttons), New Vam is actually a trapezoidal button (the button cross-section is rectangular), and it also has no external thickening, so it is easy to distinguish.
Among them, EUE denotes the outer thickened end, EUP denotes the outer thickened male buckle, and EUB denotes the outer thickened female buckle.
In addition to using pin and box to represent male and female buttons, there are external thread, male and male thread to represent male buttons.
There are female thread ,internal thread,box and box thread.
NU(Non-upset): There is no external thickening,NU means there is no external thick tubing. Where NUE denotes non-thickened end or non-thickened end. NUP means non-externally thickened male buckle, and NUB means non-externally thickened female buckle.
②Button types for drill pipe
Drill pipe buttons are generally common as REG and IF buttons, but others such as FH are not found in the tool shop. REG buckles and IF buckles are generally 5 buckles/in and 4 buckles/in respectively, but greater than 4-1/2 "even 4 buckles/in are still REG buckles, which means that greater than 4- 1/2" are generally REG buckles, and more IF buckles are less than 4-1/2 ".
1)REG(API Regular Thread)API
The regular button type in the standard is the thread used in the regular drill pipe joint.
This type of thread was once used to connect internally thickened drill pipes, forming a diameter in which the inner diameter of the joint was smaller than the inner diameter of its thickened end, and its inner diameter of the thickened end was smaller than the inner diameter of the body. The REG button and the IF button feel different.
REG button is more detailed,
IF buckles are coarser because the buckles per unit length are different.
2)IF
The threads used in the internal flat thread type internal flat joints in the standard.
This type of thread is used to connect externally thickened or internally thickened drill pipe to form a diameter with its inner diameter and the inner diameter of the thickened end is equal to or similar to the inner diameter of the body.
