Downhole Drilling Tools are pieces of oilfield equipment that are used during well drilling, completion and intervention or well workover activities and helps the oil well in optimizing the production levels and maintain a continuous flow from a reservoir.
There are many types of downhole tools that are used to conduct well activities such as slickline tools & equipment, wireline tools & equipment, example, drilling jars, fishing tools, pushing tools, drill pipes, tubular tools, centralizers, etc.
The primary purpose of using downhole tools is to carryout workover operations and well completion process as well as examining the reservoir properties such as rock, sand, liquid by bringing their sample on the well surface. They are mostly used during extreme temperatures and pressure conditions.

Perforating—the act of blasting holes through steel casing, cement and formation rock—happens in an instant, and yet, the long-term viability and profitability of most oil and gas assets depend on it. Perforating guns carry explosive shaped charges downhole, where they are detonated to create tunnels that act as conduits through which reservoir fluids flow from the formation, into the wellbore and up to the surface.
Well completion is the process of bringing an oil or natural gas well into production after initial drilling or “workover” has been completed. Completion steps involve removal of the drill string, casing, cementing, perforating, hydraulically fracturing in the reservoir to stimulate production, expelling drilling and fracturing fluids, and installing the production valve. Where the completion steps involve hydraulically fracturing in the reservoir to stimulate production, expelling “frac” fluids from the reservoir may result in excessive emissions of methane gas if not captured or flared.
Oil well logging, also known as borehole logging, is a process where specialized instrumentation is inserted into a borehole to determine the properties of the geological formations surrounding the bore. The in-situ nature of borehole logging is crucial since it allows continuous depth measurements of the formation properties to be taken while the borehole material is still under existing pressures and temperatures.
During oil well logging, the logging tool is lowered into the borehole via a cable. Relevant data is transmitted electrically through the cable to the surface, where they are digitally and continuously recorded as a function of the depth of the formation.
The data obtained from oil well logging reveals lithological classification as well as various physical, chemical, and structural properties of the formation around the borehole.

Coiled tubing has become a popular technology in the petroleum industry. It can be used for a variety of tasks in oil and gas operations, such as drilling and well intervention. Compared to traditional methods, coiled tubing is cost-effective and versatile, making it become a preferable technique in upstream activity. Coiled tubing is widely used due to its ability to reach inaccessible areas in wells.
Coiled tubing operations can be used for a wide range of tasks, including well cleanouts, acid stimulation, fracturing, cementing, logging, plug setting or retrieval, and stuck pipe prevention. The coiled tubing is typically deployed into the wellbore through a specialized injector head, which controls the speed and tension of the tubing as it is fed into the well. Once the desired depth is reached, various tools and equipment can be run through the coiled tubing to perform the required tasks.

A sucker rod is a long, slender metal rod, typically high-strength steel. Its purpose is to be a mechanical link between the surface pumping equipment and the downhole pump in an oil or gas well. It transfers power from the surface unit to the downhole pump, allowing oil and gas extraction from the well.
Sucker rods play a crucial role in efficiently and safely operating oil and gas wells. They help transfer power to the downhole pump, ensuring the continuous pumping of fluids to the surface. Sucker rods also provide load-bearing capabilities and stability, allowing for the smooth operation of the pumping system.
A wellhead is the component at the surface of an oil or gas well that provides the structural and pressure-containing interface for the drilling and production equipment.
The primary purpose of a wellhead is to provide the suspension point and pressure seals for the casing strings that run from the bottom of the hole sections to the surface pressure control equipment.
Well control is the technique used in oil and gas operations such as drilling, well workover and well completion for maintaining the hydrostatic pressure and formation pressure to prevent the influx of formation fluids into the wellbore. This technique involves the estimation of formation fluid pressures, the strength of the subsurface formations and the use of casing and mud density to offset those pressures in a predictable fashion
