Vigor Tubing Retrievable Safety Valve(VTRSV) is a kind of tubing retrievable safety valve that is controlled at the surface. It directly connects to the tubing string. There is a hydraulic control line connecting to the safety valve from the ground. While a certain amount of pressure is supplied through this control line to the safety valve, the valve remains open; while the pressure is released, the safety valve will close and the tubing pass is closed at the same time.

 

Serving as a critical and mandatory risk reduction component on both onshore and offshore production wells, the normally full-bore inline valve directly threads as an integral section into the overall tubing string deployed downhole. The robust hydraulic piston provides a reliable control system and isolate the inner critical part from the well fluid.

VTRSV-FT utilizes a metal-to-metal body joint and metal to metal flapper & seat to provide a superior well containment. An optional self-equalizing feature allow the pressure drop before the flapper start to open and prevent flow directly across the critical MTM seal interface. VTRSV-FT can be permanently locked open by a lock-out tool, and establish a communication path between the TRSV hydraulic chamber and tubing string for a wireline retrievable insert valve.

VTRSV-SRP tubing retrievable safety valves are designed with single rod-piston actuation and flapper type closure mechanism. The valve is held open by the hydraulic control pressure and remain open until the control pressure is released. The non-elastomer piston seal with back-up system are provided for better dynamic and static seal.

VTRSV-SRP body joints features reliable metal to metal seal, and the spherical metal to metal seal is also used between the flapper and seat. Additional metal to metal piston seal in full closed position is designed for minimizing the potential leak paths. The self-equalizing feature provides an equalizing flow path around the flapper mechanism. This flow path allows the pressure drop and prevents flow directly across the critical MTM seal interface.

If necessary, the VTRSV-SRP can be permanently locked open by a lock-out tool, and an additional communication tool can establish communicated path between the TRSV hydraulic chamber and tubing string before installing a wireline-retrievable insert valve.

VTRSV-CFT is a single rod piston, curved-flapper type, tubing retrievable safety valve engineered to provide a reliable operation and long-term life in a hostile environment. The valve utilizes the non-elastomeric single piston actuator, metal to metal body joint, a rugged flapper-closure mechanism, centralizing system to provided 100% well containment when closed. For maximum reliability, the piston mechanism incorporates static metal to metal stop seals while the piston reaches full open and full close positions.

The slim line curved flapper design is utilized to optimize O.D. and I.D. of the valve for maximal production rate and smaller casing size. An industry-standard self-equalizing feature can be added to this valve. VWRS Vigor Wireline Retrievable Safety Valves is a flapper-type, hydraulic operated WLRSV. The valve's function is similar to a tubing retrievable safety valve. It need be assembled with a lock mandrel and install the combination assembly in a safety valve landing nipple or disable TRSV which already communicated. It is typically used in a dual-string well where the annular space is not enough to accommodate a TRSV. Or it can be used as a secondary insert vale in a disabled TRSV. The valve features a closure mechanism with a full metal to metal seal plus a secondary soft-seal, this allows for maintaining a good sealing under any scale of gas pressure. The valve has a self-equalizing mechanism. While the hydraulic pressure actuates the piston and opening prong downward movement, the secondary metal to metal seat will be unseated and allow the below pressure to enter through equalizing port prior to opening.
