Description
The Sucker Rod is an important component of beam-pumping oil production equipment. its function is to connect the pumping unit at the top and the downhole oil pump at the bottom, transmitting power. The body is a solid rod piece made of round steel, with enlarged forged heads at both ends, featuring connecting threads and rectangular wrench flats at the top. Two products are connected by couplings between their external threads. Ordinary couplings are used to connect rods of the same diameter, while special reducing couplings are used for those with varying diameters. The string consists of the surface rod, known as the polished rod, and the downhole rod assembly. The topmost component is called the polished rod which, fitting with the stuffing box, serves to seal the wellhead.

Vigor's sucker rod is produced using standards such as API Specification 11B, the latest edition, and AISI Steel Products. However, in actual production and quality control, Vigor adopts industry standards higher than API standards. All rods are manufactured from high-quality steel bars that pass magnetic particle testing and straightening. During the forging process, its ends are heated in induction furnaces to ensure optimal fatigue resistance of the forged zone. They are long steel rods used to drive the pump in an oil well, pulling the oil or gas from the reservoir to the surface.
(1) Characteristics: it is made of carbon steel or alloy steel and is designed to withstand the corrosive and abrasive conditions in the well. They are available in standard lengths and diameters and must be selected based on the well's depth and the type of fluid being produced.
(2) Features: it is connected to the pump via a coupling or a thread, and is designed to be flexible to absorb the loads and stresses in the well. They are typically made of a schedule 40 or 80 pipe, which provides a high strength-to-weight ratio and is resistant to corrosion.
Pony Rods
They are shorter rods used to connect the rod and the pump in an oil well, or to adjust its length in a well.
(1) Characteristics: Pony rods are designed to withstand the same corrosive and abrasive conditions. They are available in standard lengths and diameters and must be selected based on the well's depth and the type of fluid being produced.
(2) Features: Pony rods are designed to be adjustable and can be inserted or removed from the rod to adjust the length of the rod. They can also be used to connect multiple rods and used in oil wells to adjust their length and to connect multiple rods.


C, D, and K grade is designed and manufactured according to the API Spec 11B specification of the American Petroleum Institute, while also conforming to the Chinese industry standard SY/T5029.
(1) Grade C is made of high-quality carbon steel or manganese steel, such as C-Mn steel, with a tensile strength of 620-794 MPa. it has moderate strength, good plasticity, and relatively good corrosion resistance, making it suitable for use in weakly acidic environments without causing sulfide stress cracking.
(2) Grade D is made of carbon steel or alloy steel, such as Cr-Mo steel rods, with a tensile strength of up to 794-965 MPa. After heat treatment, it has high strength, good plasticity, and long service life, which is suitable for use in deeper wells with no or only slight corrosion.
(3) Grade K is made of high-nickel quality alloy steel, such as NC-Mo or Ni-Cr steel rods, with a tensile strength of 588-794 MPa. It also has moderate strength, good plasticity, and relatively good corrosion resistance, making it suitable for use in acidic environments.

Couplings (Class T and SM)
(1) Class T couplings are normal strength couplings, mainly used for mild pumping conditions. They have a minimum yield strength of 75,000 psi (approx. 515 MPa).
(2) Class SM couplings are high-strength couplings, primarily used for harsh pumping conditions. They have a much higher minimum yield strength of 135,000 psi (approx. 930 MPa).
