Description
Pup joint is a non-standard length of piping used to adjust the height of full-length tubing, drill pipe, line pipe, or casing strings. Strings of pipe are assembled with standard-length tubular goods that are typically 31 feet in length. As the drill string, production tubing, or casing is lowered into the well bore a joint is added to the pipe string in order to adjust the length of the string to its exact requirements.
They are offered in either two or five-foot increments with custom lengths available on request. They are distinguished by the type of piping they are used with such as casing joints, tubing joints, or drill pipe joints. They are also distinguished by the nominal outside diameter of the pipe itself ranging from ¾" to 20" or more dependent on the type of tubular goods they mate with.

(6) Diameter offerings range from small 2 7/8" joints for well servicing operations to 20" used in large diameter conductor and surface casing strings. We stock a vast range of commonly used sizes like 3 1/2" EUE and NUE joints for fast delivery.
(7) Lengths can be customized as per customer specifications, from just a few inches to over 10 feet. We also supply specialty products like OCTG and expansion joints. Our facilities allow modification of O.D., I.D., length, coating, and threading based on application requirements.

All joints are visually and dimensionally inspected, followed by hydraulic pressure tests and NDT inspection to validate integrity. Our pup joint is properly coated, marked, and shipped with complete mill certificates.

Delivered Products
Vigor understands the importance of proper packaging to ensure safe delivery of joints worldwide. All of our products are individually coated and wrapped in protective plastic sheeting before being loaded systematically into 20ft ISO containers. We utilize sturdy wooden runners between layers to prevent movement and damage during transport. For larger diameter or heavyweight joints, we construct custom timber cradles padded with foam or other resilient materials. The loaded containers are sealed and locked to prevent tampering.
Once ready for shipment, we oversee the process carefully and track the containers until they reach our customers' facilities.
