The slotted casing is mainly used in oil wells with large sand content, and its main function is to prevent sand from falling into the well. The usual processing method is to cut out a number of longitudinal or spiral vertical rows and staggered gaps of a certain specification on the oil casing, tubing and line pipe in a variety of ways.

 

Slotted casing, a new product from Vigor, is a sand control pipe for oil (water and gas) wells with a sand production particle size greater than 0.3mm, and is a supporting special pipe for the current special oil recovery process.

 

Vigor Processing Method

 

Our product is made with a special ultra-thin cutting disc and beam cut with a seam width (0.2 - 8 mm). The seam cross-section is mostly rectangular, trapezoidal (trapezoidal angle is 3 - 8 degrees) and special (round hole) and other forms, which can ensure the permeability of 0.5% - 20%, and the layout of the gap can be processed according to user requirements.

 

The design of slotted casing requires consideration of various factors, including slot opening and closure, axial strain capacity, torsional capacity, and collapse capacity. Engineers utilize advanced Finite Element Analysis (FEA) models to accurately determine its structural capacity and service limits for specific well applications.

• It is usually made of J55 and N80 oil casing, which has high strength and will not be deformed when used.
• Its flow area is relatively large, which is 2.4 times more than that of the oil casing of the same specification, which is more conducive to the flow of liquid in the oil screen.
• When the slotted casing is used, the overall anti-corrosion treatment needs to be progressed, and a fairly dense protective layer will be formed at the position of each appearance, which not only improves the corrosion resistance of the oil screen, but also prolongs the service life.
• When it is used, it is easier to operate, and the inner diameter is relatively large, which is more suitable for the configuration of the string.
