① 9%,13%,28% Chromium grades and Corrosion Resistant Alloys(CRA)
※9% Chromium Steel: Medium alloy martensitic stainless steel.
They can provide a balance between cost and mechanical properties while offering moderate corrosion resistance.
※13% Chromium Steel: Known as 410 martensitic stainless steel.
It is more corrosion-resistant than the lower chromium martensitic and is used where strength and moderate corrosion resistance are required corrosion resistance.
Common applications include valves, pump parts, and some petrochemical equipment where higher corrosion resistance is needed than that provided by 9% Cr steels.

① Mostly, when the partial pressure of CO2 is more than 30psi and high corrosion rates are raised, Steel grades alloyed with high contents of Chromium, Molybdenum, and Nickel are effective in resisting corrosion.
② 13Cr Steel OCTG Pipe made with 13% Chromium (13Cr) is the least expensive corrosion-resistant alloy (CRA) tubular that can be used to combat C02 corrosion and H2S environmental cracking without inhibitor treatment. These stainless steel tubulars cost only half as much as duplex stainless steel and one-fourth to one-tenth as much as high-nickel CRA materials. Using 13Cr Steel OCTG Pipe might also be less expensive and more cost-effective than using carbon/low-alloy steel with inhibition.


③ The 13Cr Steel OCTG Pipes are especially attractive for tubing applications in offshore production operations where working space is limited and workover costs are high.
④ Tubulars made with 13% Cr have been widely used in North America, the North Sea, the Gulf of Mexico, and the North Slope of Alaska.
⑤ 13Cr steel is susceptible to corrosion at high temperatures, to sulfidestress cracking (SSC) in moderate to high H2S environments, and to crevice corrosion. Therefore, the application of 13Cr Steel OCTG Pipe does require precautions in the tubular design, procurement, handling, storage, and field operations.
