- Vigor's Casing Scraper has a spring and rotating design, which can remove obstructions or foreign material from the inside walls of casing. It is used to clean cement blocks, cement rings, hard wax, various salt crystals or deposits, perforation burrs, and iron oxides and other stolen goods from casing rust on the inner wall of the casing, so as to allow unimpeded entry into various downhole tools.
- Maintaining a clean casing inside diameter (I.D.) is important when operating drilling, fishing, or wireline tools. Likewise, packers, patches, spears, and similar tools require clean surfaces to grip. Obstructions on casing walls will frequently cause these tools to fail or become difficult to operate. Therefore, it is necessary to use a corresponding scraper size to scrape the casing according to the downhole casing model.
Main Components
①Scraper: Scraper is the main working part of Casing Scraper and is responsible for removing dirt and sediments on the inner wall of the oil well. The scraper is curved in shape to adapt to the curvature of the oil well pipe wall and closely conforms to the pipe wall to ensure effective scraping.
②Casing: Casing is the outer shell, used to protect the scraper and stabilize the operation in the oil well. The material of the casing is usually a corrosion-resistant metal to ensure long-term stable operation of the scraper in harsh downhole environments.
③Spring: The spring is used to provide elastic support for the scraper so that the scraper can cling to the oil well pipe wall and follow the curve of the pipe wall.
Working Principles
- Before running into the downhole, the max installation size of the blade shall be bigger than the inside diameter after running into the downhole.
- The blade forces down the spring, and the radial force is given by the spring.
- When hard materials need to be scrapped, scraping must be done several times before the scrap is pushed into the casing inside diameter for several time.
- The scraper is connected on the low end of drill string, the moving of drill string up and down make an axially feeding in scrapping operation.
- It is shown in the structure that each spiral blade has two internal and external curved scraping edges.
- When the blade is working for reciprocating scrapping, the internal edge and external edge are working in turn, and there is a wider transverse edge band between two scrapping edges stands a cutting and milling action to the cut surface.
- The strap blades are uniformly distributed on the scraper so that the returned mud can take the scraped substances away.
